The 150th Anniversary of John Peel's Death

On November 13th 2004 the Fell Packs marked this event with a ceremony in Caldbeck churchyard. Packs from across the country sent wreaths as a mark of respect on this very special hunting day.

The day went really well with between 60 and 70 wreaths delivered.

We had a 90 year old direct descendant of John Peel there, and also Diane Todhunter, daughter of Barry Todhunter the Blencathra huntsman, with 2 Blencathra hounds - she is also a descendant of John Peel on her mother's side.

A number of local hunts delivered their wreaths in person, including the Cumberland Hunt who had met not far away.
